OPPO F19 Pro + in-depth review

Price Rs 25,990 OPPO F19 Pro + It is more expensive than its sister F19 Pro, but comes with better features including 5G support. The OPPO F19 Pro + looks great too F19 Pro In many ways, but the hardware has been upgraded, which gives you a more capable chipset, supporting faster charging. However, the OPPO F19 Pro + still faces stiff competition in this segment. So, how well does the phone really work?

Judgment

The OPPO F19 Pro + is definitely the best of the two phones in the series. The device comes with a light build and attractive display. In addition, the phone gets 50W fast charging support and 5G connectivity, which makes it an impressive offer in this segment. However, you can find a combination of similar specifications in low-cost phones.

Loaddown

Looks similar to the OPPO F19 Pro + F19 Pro. The dimensions are the same along with the weight. At 173 grams, the phone is comfortable to use for a long time. Like the OPPO F19 Pro, the F19 Pro + comes with a curved rear panel with a matte finish. However, instead of a rough feel, the rear panel has a smoother finish, which makes it more premium touching. The phone comes in Fluid Black and Space Silver‌ and I got a second one for review. Due to the matte finish, the phone does not attract fingerprints or smudges.

On the back is a large rectangular camera module glued to the top left corner. The buttons on either side of the frame have a nice tactile feel and the device gets a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom. You also get a bottom-firing speaker, that’s all. Like the OPPO F19 Pro, the F19 Pro + also does not come with stereo speakers, which is frustrating.

OPPO F19 Pro Plus Review

Coming to the front, you get a 6.4-inch FHD + (2,400 x 1,080) AMOLED display with a maximum brightness of 800 nits. Unfortunately, the display is maxed out with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Phones like the OnePlus Nord in this segment offer a 90Hz AMOLED screen, so you can use the OPPO F19 Pro + high refresh rate screen. The AMOLED display on the phone is very attractive. I really liked the punch colors, accurate white balance and ink blocks that the screen offers. This is a great display to utilize content‌ and play games with enough brightness for outdoor viewing.

OPPO F19 Pro Plus Review

Comes with the same camera setup as the OPPO F19 Pro + F19 Pro. The 48MP primary camera is accompanied by an 8MP wide angle lens, 2MP macro lens and 2MP mono camera. During the day, the phone can take crisp and bright photos with good detail and color accuracy. I was able to take some sharp close-up photos of objects and objects without the need to use a macro lens. If you decide to use a macro lens, you can expect to see some washed colors, but with a good amount of clarity.

OPPO F19 Pro Plus Review

The primary camera offers fast auto focus and quick shutter speed, which means you can capture crisp stills without any distortions. Daytime photos are great, the camera works average in low light. When Night Mode is enabled, the camera can remove noise and correct exposure, but photos look brighter.

Slider

The 16MP front camera works well in capturing selfies with bright and real-life-colors. The camera makes facial features look smoother without enabling beauty mode. Selfies do not look too sharp when zoomed in, but they do look overall attractive. You can also play with the AI color portrait feature, which turns the background black and white while leaving the subject in color.

Powering the OPPO F19 Pro + the MediaTek Dimension 800U chipset comes paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is a more efficient chipset than the MediaTek Helio P95 that powers the Vanilla F19 Pro. Benchmark scores reveal a significant bump in performance and also allow chipset 5G connectivity. The OPPO F19 Pro + future-proof device is expected to launch 5G services later this year.

The smartphone feels faster and more fluid when opening apps and scrolling through the UI. I was able to switch between basic applications without any problems. Unfortunately, the phone does not come with a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate, so you will not find the Batty-Smooth scrolling experience that OnePlus Nord’s likes. However, the OPPO phone offers fast touch response, which is good for gaming. Less delay made games like Touch Call of Duty more enjoyable. Also, the phone did not heat up as well as the OPPO F19 Pro did during the 30 minute gaming session. The OPPO F19 Pro + slows down a bit when switching under intensive workloads and between heavy applications.

OPPO F19 Pro + Review

OPPO F19 Pro + flies with Android 11 Color OS 11.1. As I said in my OPPO F19 Pro review, ColorOS 11 feels fast and fluid. The UI is very responsive and has tons of customization options to help make the device feel more personal. You will find some attractive wallpapers, always with on-display options, various themes to choose from, among other things. ColorOS 11 brings a bunch of pre-loaded apps, some of which can be uninstalled.

Like the OPPO F19 Pro, the OPPO F19 Pro + comes with a 4,310mAh battery. It really does not provide two days of battery life because I reach for the charger at the end of the day or the next morning. Standby time on the phone is average, so you can expect the battery to drop by 5-7 percent overnight. Fortunately, the OPPO F19 Pro + 50W supports fast charging and you get a 50W charging brick in the box. It takes about 56 minutes to juice the phone from zero to 100 percent.

Final judgment

OPPO F19 Pro + makes a lot more sense than OPPO F19 Pro as far as siblings go. Pro + comes with a good chipset, fast charging support and 5G connectivity. However, the Rs 25,990 price tag makes you an expensive offer Realme X7 (Review) Within Rs.20,000. The RealMe X7 offers the same MediaTek Dimension 800U SOS, 50W fast charging support, and Super AMOLED display as an OPPO phone. Then there is OnePlus North (Review) Deal with OPPO F19 Pro +. While the OPPO F19 Pro + OnePlus phone is trumped in the fast charging segment, the OnePlus Nord offers better, more fluid performance with a combination of 90Hz display, Snapdragon 765G chipset and Oxygen OS platforms.
