At the time, it didn’t seem like a big deal to hear about a hole-shaped cutout iPhone display, which could be a hint for the addition of a dynamic island in the next-generation iPhone SE. However, Young has revised this claim and now says that the handset will ship with a 6.1-inch LCD panel and a notch. The report does not clarify whether the next iPhone SE will have a TrueDepth camera layout to facilitate FaceID.
iPhone SE 2024 could be iPhone XR with Touch ID
Word on the internet is that the next iPhone SE will have a notch display, but stick to Touch ID to keep consumer interest high and the phone’s manufacturing cost down. The notched-display design means the next iPhone SE will finally retire the traditional home button. But it’s not goodbye to Touch ID just yet. According to MyDrivers and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to slide the Touch ID side button to the iPhone SE like the iPad Air and iPad Mini.
Even a recent tip from Young suggests it all iPhone 15 models coming in 2024 will have Dynamic Island. If Young’s two predictions come true — a dynamic island on all iPhone 15 models and an LCD notch display on the iPhone SE — the next iPhone SE will be the only 2024 iPhone model with an LCD screen and a notch.
