Like Vodafone Idea Airtel and jio, the Rs 49 plan offers a free recharge plan for low-income customers

Let’s heat the heels Airtel And Geo are giving away their Rs 49 plan for free to poor customers, Vodafone Idea has also put its hat on the ring. The network provider has officially announced that it will allow low-income customers to avail of its one-time recharge plan of Rs 49. Like Airtel, the Vodafone Idea Rs 49 plan comes with Talktime worth Rs 39, 100MB mobile internet, and 30 days validity. Local and national calls cost Rs. 0.25 will be charged. Vodafone Idea has doubled some of the benefits of its Rs 79 plan, offering Talktime worth Rs 64, 200MB mobile internet, and 28 days validity.

Airtel and Vodafone Idea have also stated that the initiative will help 60 million vulnerable customers. (ETTelecom), “As a special gesture, with this one-time offer, VIL will extend benefits worth Rs 2,940 million to low-income group customers across the country.”

Interestingly, none of the telcos that made this announcement shed light on how low-income customers plan to access the free Rs 49 plan. Many skeptical users do not have the technology in particular, so redirecting them to a website/app link will not be of much use. Furthermore, many skeptical users may not have access to a smartphone.

Furthermore, no company has defined who is eligible for these schemes. We do not know when they planned to design these schemes. One can only hope that they will give a more detailed explanation soon as it will be of great benefit to low-income consumers.
