Jio True 5G update for Nothing Phone (1) rolls out

The Nothing Phone (1) was launched in India and globally in July. Having said that, let’s take a look at the patch notes of this Nothing Phone (1) firmware update.

Nothing Phone (1) 5G Update supports Jio True 5G

To check if your device has received this update, go to Settings -> System -> System Update -> Tap on the ‘Check for Update’ button. If available, you will see the teen update with a size of 22.20MB. The patch note says that updating the software may fix some network issues Indian users covered by Reliance Jio can now access 5G. You can click the ‘Download and Install’ button to update your smartphone.

Nothing Phone (1) supports all 5G bands: n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n77 and n78. This means that if the Jio True 5G network is available where you live, you will be able to experience it. Currently, the Jio 5G network is only available in select cities including Delhi, Varanasi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

As Jio plans to roll out 5G services to every town, talukadar and tehsil by December 2023, if your city is not in the above list you will have to wait a little longer.
