Instagram is testing a new design to see stories on the desktop. In a new look, Instagram Stories will appear in a carousel instead of the current single-tile format that takes up the entire page. A company spokesperson confirmed to a publication that testing of the new feature is really underway. The report suggests that navigation should be the same – users may need to click through the stories manually or allow them to play one after the other automatically. It is not yet clear when the new design will reach most consumers.
According to a Report By Engadget, a Instagram The spokesperson confirmed that the new design for the stories is being tested. The new form has appeared to a “small group” of Instagram users since last month, according to a spokesman. Gadgets 360 reached out to Instagram for more clarity. This report will be updated when we hear back.
The new design for Instagram Stories makes it easy to keep track of where you are in the Stories queue. So far, when you check the story on Instagram for desktop, it takes up the whole screen. Despite the navigation buttons, the next person has no choice but to swipe to the story.
If this change becomes available to a wider audience, it will make Instagram on the desktop a cleaner user experience and will be especially beneficial for those who use the desktop for Instagram on a daily basis. Users will be able to see the last few stories and the next few in the queue and not a single story will take up the entire screen.
If Facebook Instagram decides to offer a wider audience of new functionality that will allow more users to adopt the new design for stories on the desktop before it is officially launched.
