HP plans to launch Sun-Rs 25,000 Chromebook Soon in India, sources familiar with the matter said India Today Tech. This adds to HP’s current affordable Chromebooks, some of which are priced between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000. Their exact start date is not known, however, Chromebooks will be announced in the first week of April 2021, with sales likely to start in the following weeks. With schools taking classes online, the demand for low-cost Chromebooks has been steadily increasing. HP hopes to capitalize on this demand with its new Chromebooks.

It’s too early to specify what the features of the upcoming HP Chromebook will be, but we can expect it to run an upgraded version of the Intel Celeron N4020 processor, perhaps the Celeron N5100 that was launched some time ago. The four-core, four-thread CPU can increase the base clock speed up to 1.8GHz and 2.8GHz. Integrated Intel handles UHD iGPU graphics. It can be paired with LPDDR4x 2,933MHz RAM up to 12GB, although the HP Chromebook does not have more than 4GB of RAM. 64 / 128GB eMMC storage should also be included.

The HP Chromebook has a 14-inch HD (1366 x 768) touch-enabled display. If HP’s current SKUs have anything to go on, there may be a 12-inch variant in the works. It is powered by a 2-cell 45Wh battery that provides 10 hours of backup. Connectivity options include two USB Type-C ports, one USB Type-A port and a microSD card reader. Bluetooth 5 and 802.11b / g / n / AC / Wi-Fi wireless communication is enabled.
