Google is testing a feature that integrates videos from TickTalk and Instagram into carousels dedicated to the Google mobile app. If this feature becomes widely available, users will no longer need to open personal apps to watch short videos, as they can search and view within the Google app itself. The short video carousel started appearing on Google Discover a few months ago and is now pulling videos from TickTalk and Instagram, according to reports.
According to a Report By Tech Crunch, a Google The spokesperson confirmed that this feature is being piloted on mobile phones and is currently a limited start-up feature in the Google app and mobile website for mobile applications. It is unclear what searches the feature will be available for.
Clicking on Instagram and TickTalk videos in the short video carousel will take users to the web version of the social media platform rather than the mobile app installed on the phone, the report said. Enabling this feature allows users to watch videos without having to change apps. By clicking on the back arrow, users can return to search results that lead them to video, the report said.
This feature is not available to everyone and currently seems to be in the testing stages only. It is not clear how this feature works in India where TickTalk is located Prohibited By the government.
