The BYD Atto 3 EV SUV has been launched in India after a lot of build-up and comes as a good product. The Atto 3 looks contemporary and packs in the latest tech gizmos on offer. Powertrain-wise the vehicle promises considerable range and performance, making it priced at Rs. It is an attractive option at the 25 lakh mark.

The BYD Atto 3 adopts a compact styling with a well-proportioned stance. It gains size With a wheelbase of 2,720mm and a length of 4,445mm it is longer than both the Kona EV and ZS EV. The Atto 3 also has a healthy 440 liters of boot space. In true EV fashion the front fascia is grille-less and gets LED lighting and stylized air dams. The rear has a minimalistic design, with the LED lightbar taillight serving as the primary highlight. The profile is surrounded by clean lines and adorned with 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and silver applique on the C pillar.

The interiors feature a complete dashboard design and funky looking AC vent and door speaker/handle design. Having several tech kits increases context All LED lighting, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, wireless phone charger, 5-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, synthetic leather upholstery, powered front driver and passenger seats and multi-color ambient lighting. But the highlight is the floating 12.8-inch central infotainment display, which rotates automatically to allow portrait and landscape style.

The BYD Atto 3 also features safety equipment 360-degree camera, ABS, ESC, traction control, hill descent control and 7 airbags. It also gets the ADAS suite that includes automatic emergency braking, blindspot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and front and rear collision warnings.

The Indian Auto 3 model gets a larger 60.48kWh battery pack and claims to offer a range of 521km. The Atto 3 gets a PMSE motor at the front, which churns out 201bhp of peak power and 310Nm of peak torque. This allows the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 in just 7.3 seconds. The Atto 3 is compatible with an 80kW fast charger that charges the car from 0 to 80 percent in just 50 minutes. Atto 3 takes around 10 odd hours to charge through one Type 2 AC charger. BYD will also offer buyers a 3kW AC portable charging box as well as a 7kW AC home charger.

BYD is offering 3 years of 4G data connection, 6 years of RSA and 6 years of free maintenance services as part of the promotional package. Ato 3 also brings along Standard warranty of 6 years/1,50,000 kms with 8 years/1,60,000 km warranty on battery pack. Available through Auto 3 dealerships, the landmark cars will soon arrive in Delhi, Mumbai and other South Indian cities.

The exact price of the BYD Atto 3 is yet to be announced.
